Commonwealth Games 2018: Swimmer Sajan Prakash fails to enter final in 100m butterfly

Gold Coast (Australia) : Indian Sajan Prakash finished 10th in the semi-finals of the men's 100 metre butterfly swimming competition of the 21st Commonwealth Games here on Sunday.

Competing in semi-final 2, Sajan finished with a timing of 54.12 seconds to be fifth. But his effort ranked 10th in the overall standings. The top eight performers in the semi-finals enter the final.

Australian Grant Irvine topped the semi-finals with a timing of 51.87 seconds. England's James Guy was second (52.34).

Earlier, during the heats, Sajan finished second in Heat 2 of the competition after clocking 54.11 seconds only behind Irvine, who finished with a timing of 53.89 at the Optus Aquatic Centre here.
