Delhi Para Olympic Committee President meets IHC Director Prof. K.G. Suresh
New Delhi : Mrs. Parul Singh, President of the Delhi Paralympic Committee, recently met with Prof. K.G. Suresh, Director of the India Habitat Centre (IHC), to explore avenues for collaboration on upcoming para-sports and inclusion-focused initiatives.
The meeting was held in light of Delhi’s growing role in supporting para-athletics, with the city set to host significant sporting events later this year. Discussions focused on improving accessibility, awareness, and institutional support for athletes with disabilities, while exploring ways to use cultural and public platforms like IHC to create a more inclusive sports environment.
Ms. Parul Singh is an active leader of the Mahila Morcha and a long-time member of ABVP and serves as the National President of the Women’s Wing of the Narendra Modi Vichar Manch. She is known for her work at the grassroots level and has been consistently involved in empowering para-athletes and promoting their participation in mainstream sports.
Speaking after the meeting, Prof. Suresh said, “The kind of work being done by the Delhi Paralympic Committee and Ms. Parul Singh is truly commendable. Their commitment to supporting para-athletes is visible on the ground, and that’s what really matters. IHC will do whatever it can to support their efforts.”
Prof. Suresh, a veteran in journalism, public communication, and institution building, has served as Vice-Chancellor of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Mass Communication and as Director General of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication. His deep experience in media strategy and public engagement will be instrumental in broadening support for para-sports and allied causes.
