New Delhi : Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has won the first Gold medal for India in Tokyo Olympics 2020. He won the medal with 87.58 meters throw in his first attempt.



Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his gratitude to Neeraj Chopra and said 'history has been scripted’.

"History has been scripted at Tokyo! What Neeraj Chopra has achieved today will be remembered forever. The young Neeraj has done exceptionally well. He played with remarkable passion and showed unparalleled grit. Congratulations to him for winning the Gold," said PM Narendra Modi.
