Doha : World No. 1 Andy Murray will be facing World No. 2 Novak Djokovic in the final of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open tennis tournament.

The two top tennis players went into finals after winning their respective semi-finals on Friday, reports Efe.

Murray cruised into finals with 6-3, 6-4 victory over third-seed Tomas Berdych; while Djokovic struggled hard to beat Spain's Fernando Verdasco.

The Serb saved five match points to best Verdasco 4-6, 7-6 (7), 6-3 in a contest that lasted two hours and 23 minutes.

As per history, Djokovic has better winning figures when the two faced each other in final, 10 out of 18. But, interestingly, in last two face-offs it was Murray who tasted victory.

That victory vaulted Murray into the No.1 spot in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings.
