Apple to launch MacBook Air at cheaper rates this year

New Delhi : In case money had been an issue to shower your love on Apple products, the problem is likely to get solved this year with Apple's plan to launch cheaper MacBook Air laptops in 2018.

The MacBook Air laptops are currently available in the market between a price bracket of $999 or $1,199 depending upon the configuration of the machine.

Though it is difficult to make a guess behind the decision of price drop, it will definitely give the company a boost in sales figures.

According to a new report from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (via 9to5Mac), the cheaper machine can come in the second quarter of 2018.

Kuo believes a new variant of the MacBook Air is expected to arrive ‘with a lower price tag’, a move that will help the company to push MacBook shipments up by 10-15 per cent this year.

According to TrendForce, Apple has overtaken Asus in global laptop shipments, moving up from fifth to the fourth position. In the third quarter of 2017, the company shipped 4.43 million MacBooks.
