Delhi : In order to enable seamless 5G connectivity throughout its fifth-generation smartphone range, Vodafone Idea has teamed with Motorola, according to a statement on Monday. The announcement comes just a few days after Vodafone Idea received a boost, with the Centre sanctioning on Friday the conversion of the struggling telco's accrued interest debts of Rs 16,000 crore into equity.

After the conversion to equity, the government will no longer have management authority over the corporation, holding a 33 percent ownership.

Vi and Motorola said in a statement on Monday that their partnership would "provide seamless 5G connection across its wide 5G smartphone portfolio" and that this would "further expedite the development of the 5G ecosystem in the country."

"Motorola has successfully tested its latest and most well-liked smartphone models on 3350 to 3400 MHz frequency bands on Vi 5G network in New Delhi," the announcement continued.
