iPhone users sue Apple over slowing down phones

California : Two iPhone users sued Apple after the company accepted to slowing down their older devices for 'optimal performance'.

The plaintiffs, both users of iPhone 7 brought a class action lawsuit in California on Thursday, reports claimed.

In the complaint, they have mentioned that Apple never asked for their permission before slowing down the device. They are also reportedly trying to get the case certified to cover all people in the United States who owned iPhones older than iPhone 8.

Stefan Bogdanovich and Dakota Speas also claimed damages from Apple as they allegedly suffered economic damages and other harms for the company’s action, MSN claimed.

No comment has been made by Apple on the issue.

Apple Inc. had recently admitted to slowing down their iPhone devices with ageing batteries to improve performance for the users.

“Our goal is to deliver the best experience for customers, which includes overall performance and prolonging the life of their devices,” an Apple spokesperson said in response to an AFP inquiry.

It looks like, Apple need to be more careful before they reveal their secrets to better user experience.
