7.3 magnitude earthquake hits North Japan, Tsunami alert issued

Tokyo : A strong earthquake of 7.3 magnitude struck North Japan on Wednesday evening, triggering a Tsunami warning in most part of Tokyo.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said that there is nothing to worry in regards to Tsunami, however Japan Meteorological Agency kept its low risk advisory.

The earthquake struck at 11:36 pm at a depth of 60 kilometers below the sea.

According to a report, some damages have been reported in Fukushima. But, there is no report on casualty yet.

After the quake, more than 2 million homes had to face the power outage.

The earthquake was also felt in most parts of East Japan, including Tokyo, where tall buildings were seen swinging in air.

For safety checks, the train services were also halted.
