Bus collides with fuel tanker in Afghanistan

Kabul : At least 14 people lost their lives after a civilian bus collided with a fuel tanker on the main highway in western Afghanistan, PTI quoted an Afghan official.

Mohammad Naser Mehri, spokesman for the provincial governor in Farah province, said Sunday that more than 40 others were wounded in the accident.

The bus was on its way from western Herat toward the capital, Kabul, when the accident took place, Mehri said, adding around a dozen of the wounded are in critical condition.

Afghanistan is famous for accidents on highways mostly due to unpaved roads, high speeds and carelessness while driving. Every year hundreds of people die in road accidents in the country.
