New Delhi : To reduce the risk of getting coronavirus from people in different nations, Canada has announced an extension of ban on international incoming flights till September 21.


“Based on the latest public health advice from the Public Health Agency of Canada, Transport Canada is extending the Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) that restricts all direct commercial and private passenger flights to Canada from India until September 21, 2021, at 23:59 EDT,” the federal transport ministry said in a statement.

Canada had announced a ban on international passenger flights on April 22 and it has been extended several times since then. This is for the fifth time when the nation has extended the ban, which was set to expire on August 21; the new ban will remain in place till September 21. 

The ban does not apply to cargo flights or medical transfers.
