Donald Trump may cut off all ties with China

Washington : President Donald Trump on Thursday suggested that the US may "cut off the whole relationship" with China, eventually saving $500 billion for the country.

"There are many things we could do," Trump told Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo on Thursday morning. "We could cut off the whole relationship."

The US and many other nations across the world have turned their back to China amid ongoing coronavirus crisis.

China has been continuously accused of hiding facts and failing to contain the virus, which is also claimed to be formed in one of the labs in Wuhan.

Meanwhile, China has rejected all the claims and said that Donald Trump is trying to deflect criticism on their own response to the coronavirus.

The president suggested on Thursday that cutting ties with China would save the U.S. money.

"Now, if you did, what would happen?" he asked. "You'd save $500 billion if you cut off the whole relationship."

US has registered the maximum number of positive coronavirus cases, as well the highest number of deaths in the world.
