Militants attack Pakistan University campus of 3000 students

Karachi : A group of militants on Wednesday morning stormed into the campus of Pakistan University and open fired with at least two heard explosions.

Nearly 3000 students with 600 guests were inside the campus attending a special lecture when this incident took place.

According to reports in local media, three militants have been seen entering the premises of Bacha Khan University.

"We launched an operation inside the university and are trying to rescue the students and staff of the institution," said Deputy Inspector General Saeed Wazir to a news agency.

Last year in December 2014, militants had attacked a school in Peshawar and killed many innocent souls.
