New guidelines for international travels issued

New Delhi : The Home Ministry has issued a set of new guidelines for international travellers coming to India. The new guidelines will come into effect from August 8 this year.

Meanwhile, the aviation regulator DGCA has announced an extension in the international flight services till July 31. This restriction does not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.

Here are key points from the newly issued guidelines for international travellers to India.

1: All travellers should submit self-declaration form on the website newdelhiairport.in at least 72 hours before travel.

2: They should give an undertaking on the website that they would undergo mandatory quarantine for 14 days i.e. 7 days paid institutional quarantine at their own cost, followed by 7 days isolation at home with self-monitoring.

3: Travellers may also seek exemption from institutional quarantine by submitting a negative RT-PCR test report on arrival.

The Home Ministry has also allowed states to form their own set of guidelines on quarantine of passengers as per their assessment.
