‘Father Of All Bombs’ is FOUR TIMES more powerful than 'Mother Of All Bombs: All you need to know

New Delhi : Aviation Thermobaric Bomb of Increased Power (ATBIP) is a Russian-designed, bomber-delivered thermobaric weapon. In describing the destructive power of "FOAB", deputy chief of the Russian general staff Alexander Rukshin was quoted as saying, "all that is alive merely evaporates.

RUSSIA has a bomb FOUR times more deadly than the Mother of all Bombs (MOAB) Donald Trump’s military used to take out an Islamic State (ISIS) stronghold in Afghanistan, Putin’s government has claimed.

The Mother Of All Bombs (MOAB), which belongs to the US Air Force, weighs a staggering 21,600lbs.

But the Russian version - called the Father Of All Bombs - weighs just 15,560lbs and is packed with the equivalent to 44 tons of explosive TNT.

Russia has now revealed it can outmatch the 21,000-pound giant in the US arsenal, as President Putin’s military says it has the  “the father of all bombs” at their disposal. 

The FOAB explodes mid-air, igniting a fuel-air mixture and vaporises targets and it is so powerful it is comparable to nuclear weapons.

Developed in 2007, the FOAB explodes in midair, igniting a fuel-air mixture. It vaporizing targets and collapses structures,  producing blasts and aftershocks as powerful as a small nuclear blast but without the same radioactive fallout.
