Uttarakhand violence: 4 dead, over 100 cops injured in violence-hit Haldwani

Haldwani : 4 people have been reportedly dead and more than 100 cops have been injured in Uttarakhand's Haldwani where violence struck after demolition of "illegally built" madrasa and an adjoining mosque.

According to reports, locals hurled stones over police personnel, municipal corporation workers and journalists as a bulldozer ramped over the madrasa and mosque.

Meanwhile, schools have been shut in the region and internet services have also been suspended.

As the tense situation prevails in the region, people have been asked to stay inside their homes and come out only in emergency till further updates.
