Get ready for another shocker, Donald Trump likely to cut green card holders by half

US President Donald Trump

Washington : After travel ban, it is time to get ready for another shocker from the Donald Trump government; in a latest two US Senators have proposed a legislation to cut down legal immigrants to US by half within last decade, resulting in an adverse effect on those aspiring for a green card or permanent residency in the United States.

Republican senator Tom Cotton and David Perdue from the Democratic party introduced Raise Act, which will significantly reduce the number of immigrants residing in US without a skill-based visa.

The passage of bill, which is almost final with huge support from Donald Trump administration, will disappoint many Indians who are currently waiting for a green card based on their employment.

It also proposes to eliminate diversity visa lottery.

"The Diversity Lottery is plagued with fraud, advances no economic or humanitarian interest, and does not even deliver the diversity of its namesake. The RAISE Act would eliminate the 50,000 visas arbitrarily allocated to this lottery," it said.
