Hero MotorCorp to hike prices across the range from January 2020

Mumbai : World's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp has announced that they will be hiking the price of their vehicles by upto Rs 2000 across the complete range effective from January 1, 2020. The hike will vary from model to model.

The announcement from Hero comes days after Maruti Suzuki announced that they will also be hiking the prices from January. The news is not a shocker as many auto makers tend to make an upward revision in price every year at the start of the calender.

The company did not make any announcement on the reason behind the price hike.

Meanwhile, Hero MotoCorp has stopped production of a number of BS4 vehicles in its range, as it transitions to the new BS6 emission norms. 

The company is planning to sell only BS6 engines from the New Year itslelf. The manufacturer's first BS6 compliant offering is the Hero Splendor iSmart.

On the other hand, it has been learned that the companies have planned to increase the prices of vehicle, but they are likely to make the hike with the launch of BS6 engines. The deadline to meet the new stringent emission norms has been set for April 2020, which leaves dealers and automakers alike with a little over four three months to clear existing inventories of BS4 vehicles.
