Delhi : The long-awaited Nexon EV makeover has finally arrived from Tata Motors in India. The base model of the electric SUV costs Rs. 14.74 lakh (ex-showroom), while the highest-specified model costs Rs. 19.94 lakh (ex-showroom). The recently released Nexon EV will be widely available in six varieties spanning seven exterior colors, including Creative+, Fearless, Fearless+, Fearless+ S, Empowered, and Empowered+.

Tata Nexon dimensions and the makeover

The Curvv and Harrier EV ideas served as design influence for the Nexon makeover. It has a split headlamp design, with the daytime running lights (DRLs) at the top and the headlights mounted in a trapezoidal housing on the bumper. The lower part of the bumper has a broad bar running across it that holds the number plate, and the DRL are joined by a thin top grille where the Tata Motors emblem is located.

The 16-inch alloy wheels now have a fresh look, and the accent line is no longer accentuated in a contrasting color. The reverse light has been relocated to the bumper and the Nexon makeover now features a full-width LED light bar linking the taillights. The SUV's dimensions have somewhat changed; its length and height have risen by 2 mm and 14 mm, respectively, while its width has fallen by 7 mm. However, the wheelbase and ground clearance remain unchanged at 2,498mm and 208mm, respectively. The boot has a 382 liter capacity, according to Tata Motors.

Tata Nexon interior updates and features

The Nexon facelift's inside is quite similar to the Curvv idea. The HVAC controls are now controlled via a touch-based display, and the center console has far fewer physical buttons. It also boasts AC vents that are smaller and more angular. The dashboard also receives leather accents and a gloss that resembles carbon fiber.

Top-spec of 10.25-inch floating touchscreen and a similarly sized digital instrument cluster, which can also be utilized for navigation, are added to the Nexon makeover. Other amenities include a voice-activated sunroof, a 360-degree camera, linked car technology, a wireless charger, ventilated front seats, and more. Six airbags are included as standard equipment across the whole range, along with ESC, three-point seat belts for every passenger, ISOFIX, and emergency and breakdown call assistance.

Tata Nexon powertrain and variations facelift

The 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine with 120 horsepower and 170 nm and the 1.5-liter diesel engine remain under the hood of the Nexon facelift. Despite both engines maintaining their current 6-speed manual and 6-speed AMT, depending on the version, the petrol engine additionally offers the choice of a 5-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox (with paddle shifters).

Tata Motors is no longer utilizing the former version nomenclature that began with "X" - XE, XM, XM+, XZ+, and XZ+ Lux - and is instead employing a naming structure that is similar to Punch. These trims are Smart, Smart+, Smart+ S, Pure, Pure S, Creative, Creative+, Creative+ S, Fearless, Fearless S, and Fearless+ S of the Nexon makeover. The '+' represents add-on packages with many functionality, while the S represent the sunroof.
