Auto Expo 2018: Honda to introduce new Civic and CR-V

New Delhi : At the Auto Expo 2018, Honda has planned some surprises for its desired customers for the year. Amid new generation Amaze, the other two cars to make a mark are all-new Civic and CR-V. Adding more to it is the news that both the new versions of the cars will hit Indian markets sooner than expectation.

The official launch dates have not been revealed so far, but as per several reports, the new CR-V is likely to hit the Indian market later this year. For the first time, Honda will be offering the new CR-V in India with an all-new diesel power-train. The car is also likely to be equipped with 7-seating arrangement to make an edge in its competition.

The India-spec Honda CR-V will be powered by a 1.6-litre twin-turbo Earth Dreams diesel unit that is tuned to produce 160 BHP of power while developing 350 Nm of torque. This engine will come mated to a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic transmission. This engine will be manufactured locally and will also make its way into the 2018 Honda Civic facelift, which is expected to be launched next year. Speaking of which, the Honda Civic will also get the 1.8-litre iVTEC petrol engine.

The display model of new civic is what is currently available in the market in different countries, but what India will get is a facelift version of the current one. New civic will follow coupe-like styling to add more to the sporty nature of the car.
