New Delhi : Honda Cars India has officially launched the brand new Jazz in India and the price of the 2020 version starts at Rs 7.49 lakh. The company has launched the BS6 Jazz only with a petrol engine 3 variants - V, VX and ZX.

All the three variants of the car will also be available in automatic CVT engines.

Under the hood, the 2020 Honda Jazz will come with the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine that powers the Amaze subcompact sedan. The BS6 compliant motor has been tuned to generate 89 bhp of power and develop 110 Nm of peak torque. As mentioned earlier, the car has been fitted with a 5-speed manual gearbox, along with an optional CVT automatic unit. Paddle shifters will be added to the CVT variants of the car, similar to the City sedan.

What has changed from the older version?

In the new 2020 Honda Jazz, new LED daytime running lights, glossy black grille with chrome borders has been attached to the face of the car. The top end variant comes with LED headlights and even LED fog lamps. Interestingly, manual gear version of the car will also include features like push-button engine start/stop and Smart key with keyless remote function.

The company has added an electric sunroof in the car and this particular feature is likely to attract many buyers. We've already seen this strategy work in Honda's favour with the WR-V.

Bookings for the 2020 Honda Jazz BS6 have already opened, and customers can book the car at any authorised Honda Cars India showroom across the country for a token of Rs 21,000, or make an online booking for Rs 5,000 via the company's official website. The Jazz BS6 will compete with the likes of the Tata Altroz, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and Hyundai i20.
