Delhi : Over the course of the festive period, car sales surpassed one million units. India sold 1.03 million automobiles and SUVs throughout the course of the ninety-day festival, which started with Onam in Kerala and ended with Bhai Dooj.

Media sources state that from August 17, 2023, and the conclusion of Navratri, over 7 lakh automobiles were sold, representing an 18% increase. Between Dussehra and the conclusion of the holiday season, an extra 3.25 lakh to 3.3 lakh cars were sold. In comparison to the previous holiday season, the industry saw a 20–25% increase in sales with over a million automobiles shipped.

The holiday rush is said to have brought in over Rs 1.1 lakh crore in revenue for the car sector. Furthermore, it's anticipated that the increase in sales will increase GST collections for the government. Maruti Suzuki, the top carmaker in India, had stronger growth in rural regions. 44% of overall sales came from an 11% increase in rural sales.
