New Delhi : Ford India on Thursday launched its first Compact Utility Vehicle (CUV) for India - Freestyle - at a starting price of Rs 5.09 lakh. The car is a crossover version of its popular hatchback Figo.

Ford Freestyle variants

The car will be available in four variants - Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+ - with both petrol and diesel options. The booking for the car is open from April 7.

For the top end variants of the car, the buyers will have to shell out Rs 6.94 lakh for petrol version and Rs 7.89 lakh for the diesel one.

Ford Freestyle engine specifications

Freestyle has been powered with a three-cylinder 1.2-litre TiVCT petrol engine that generates 96PS of peak power and 120Nm of peak torque. While the diesel variant comes with 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine as an option that generates 100PS of peak power and 215 Nm of torque.

To make it look more premium, the car comes with a dual tone brown-black dual tone interior and a 6.5-inch infotainment touchscreen. Ford's Sync3 infotainment system with voice command, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are limited to the top-spec variants.

Other features in the higher variants include automatic climate control, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and electrochromic IRVM (Inside Rear View Mirror)

In terms of safety, the car has been equipped with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), dual front airbags, seat belt and high-speed reminders, speed sensing door locks, rear fog lamps, and reverse parking sensors as standard across the trim-line of the Freestyle.
