Honda City hatchback unveiled in Thailand, to be sold in ASEAN countries

New Delhi : Honda City has been trimmed to give birth to its hatchback variant, and the new model was recently unveiled in Thailand. It has been learned that the Honda City's hatchback version will be sold in the ASEAN markets. 

Honda City hatchback takes most of its features and style statements from its sedan version; both sharing the grille, headlamp, bonnet layout, bumper and fog lamps. The only noticeable difference comes after one sees the two cars after C-Piller. The cars look different from the back as the hatchback variant has been completely redesigned.

The taillights, spoiler and bumper have been completely re-designed to give this car its hatchback credentials.

Talking about the interiors of the car, the Thailand version of Honda City hatchback gets an 8-inch touch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It has multiple parking cameras, an eight-speaker audio system. For the safety of passengers, the car has been fitted with six airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist, Hill Start Assist and speed-sensing auto door locks.

The Honda City Hatchback is powered by a 1-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which makes around 120 bhp of power. There is also 173 Nm of torque on offer. A six-speed CVT is likely to be the preferred choice although a six-speed manual transmission unit is also available.

The City Hatchback will be offered in 1.0 TURBO S+, 1.0 TURBO SV and 1.0 TURBO RS. variants.
