Honda City new ad books other cars as 'toys'

New Delhi : Honda City in its new commercial advertisement has tagged the other cars on roads as just the 'toys'. Honda City had dominated the sedan segment until the arrival of Hyundai Verna Fluidic (in  2012), and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz (in 2016). Without naming them, the TV commercial says 'toys trying to race with you, trying to be you, they watch you, copy you and pretend to be you; but you know, they can never be you.'

Despite increasing competition in the C-Segment of sedans, Honda City has maintained strong selling figures. It’s just that the first and second places in the segment are now taken by the Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna. In fact, the City was relegated to third place in August 2018 due to very strong dispatch numbers of the facelifted  Maruti Ciaz.

Honda City is approximately Rs 90,000 costly than its prime competitors. Prices start at Rs. 8.96 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi. Currently, the Honda City sold in India gets two engine and three transmission options. It received a facelift last year, and an all-new model will be launched in 2020.
