New Delhi : Hyundai Santro, launched on October 23, is getting a good response from the people in India. The car has already peaked the sales figure of 8535 units for the first month sale.

The monthly sales in India are calculated on the basis of when the car was dispatched to the dealer and not when the first consumer buys it.

Interestingly, the booking of the car has crossed over 22,000 mark that is highest by any car in the segment. With sales of 8,535 units, the Hyundai Santro has overtaken Tata Tiago (7,549 units) and Renault Kwid (6,035 units).

If the speed of booking and dispatch remains constant it will soon surpass sales figures of market leaders like WagonR and Celario.

With a starting price tag of Rs 3.89 lakhs and brilliant safety features like airbags and ABS standard on all variant, the car is turning out to be a favourite choice for most of the people in India. However, these are introductory prices and only offered for the first 50,000 customers, following which there is likely to be a substantial price hike.

2018 Hyundai Santro gets many segment first features among which are a 7” touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay & Mirror Link smartphone connectivity, keyless entry, rear parking camera and power windows.

The car is powered with a 1.1 litre petrol engine that produces 68bhps of power, that is just enough for a car like that.
