New Delhi : Hyundai Motor India on Tuesday launched its much-awaited Venue compact SUV at a starting price tag of Rs 6.50 lakh (ex-showroom). 

Hyundai Venue will be offered in seven colour options - Star Dust, Fiery Red, Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Deep Forest, Lava Orange and Denim Blue. Also, the company will be offering three dual-tone options - Denim Blue with Polar White Roof, Polar White with Phantom Black Roof and Lava Orange with Phantom Black Roof.

The all-new Hyundai Venue will be powered with three engine options. The all-new 1.0-litre Kappa T-GDI petrol engine makes 120 PS and 172 Nm of torque. This mill is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox and an in-house developed 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). 

In terms of mileage, the company is claiming the segment-best mileage figures of 18.27 kmpl and 18.15 kmpl for the 6-speed manual gearbox and 7-speed DCT, respectively. The other engine options are 1.2-litre Kappa petrol motor and 1.4-litre diesel engine. Mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, 1.2-litre petrol engine produces 83 PS and 115 Nm of torque. The claimed fuel efficiency for this mill is 17.52 kmpl. The 1.4-litre diesel engine churns out 90 PS and 220 Nm of torque. Mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, the official mileage figure for this variant is 23.70 kmpl.

For peace of mind, the buyers will also be provided with 3 years or unlimited kms of warranty and roadside assistance for an equal number of years with the 2019 Hyundai Venue. The company is claiming the lowest cost of maintenance with a doorstep service facility for the new compact SUV.

In terms of design, the car has been fitted with a dark chrome front grille; cube-shaped projector headlamps and LED DRLs and projector fog lamps add to its front looks. The new compact SUV gets 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, roof rail, shark fin antenna and silver skid plates. 

The interior has been fitted with colour themes - Black Single Tone, Khaki Dual Tone and Denim Dual Tone - along with a combination of leatherette and fabric upholstery.

Features:

The all-new Hyundai Venue will come with the company's Bluelink connectivity solution that has an in-built and tamper-proof device powered by Vodafone-Idea eSIM and a cloud-based voice recognition platform from Sound Hound, a global AI firm. The new technology offers 33 features, out of which 10 are India specific. 

It will have a 20.32-cm touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. 

The Hyundai Venue was unveiled in India on April 17. The bookings for the car had begun for May 2 and the company had booked over 2000 cars on the very first day.

Safety: 

The compact SUV is high on safety features as well. The company has used Advanced High Strength Steel in Venue. While it meets pedestrian safety norm, features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX, seatbelt reminder, rear parking sensors, speed sensing auto door lock and crash sensing auto door unlock are standard. Other safety features include six airbags, Hill Assist Control (HAC), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), auto headlamps with escort function, cornering lamps and rear camera with rear parking sensors and power window with auto up/down.

Competition:

Hyundai Venue will be competing against Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV300.
