Delhi : Under ARAI test circumstances, the Kia EV6's AWD version claims to have a single-charge driving range of 708 kilometres.

The EV6, which made its debut on the local market around the middle of this year, is now Kia India's flagship model in that country. Many accolades have been given to the electric crossover, including the 2022 European Car of the Year award, which it won over the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Ford Mustang Mach-E, Skoda Enyaq iV, Renault Megane E-Tech, and Peugeot 308.

WLTP (Worldwide harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure) claims that the Kia EV6 can go 528 kilometres on a single charge. However, the EV6 has a greater range when tested under ARAI parameters for India. The GT Line version of the EV has two electric motors, one driving each axle, and is able to generate 321 horsepower and 605 Nm.

This specific all-wheel drive model has a 77.4 kWh Li-ion battery pack that, according to ARAI certification, enables a stated driving range of 708 km on a single charge. The EV6 is now imported into the nation through the CBU channel, and the RWD form has an ex-showroom price of around Rs. 60 lakh. The price of the AWD trim is 64.95 lakh (ex-showroom).

Indian clients have been pleased with the electric crossover. The South Korean car giant has so far shipped about 200 EV6 machines to India, but hasn't yet sent more than 150. With a 350 kW DC fast charger, the five-seater is said to be able to recharge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.

According to the company, a 50 kW can reach the same charge in 73 minutes. The BMW i4 electric car, with a stated range of 590 km, is up there as a direct competitor to the Kia EV6 in the domestic market. The Ioniq 5, its brother, will debut at the 2023 Auto Expo in Greater Noida the following month. The AWD model is advertised as having a 5.2 second zero to 100 kmph time.

Regarding features, it has a ducktail-style spoiler, a full-width LED tail lamp, 19-inch two-tone alloy wheels, a curved dual-screen layout, a floating centre console and two-spoke steering wheel, the use of sustainable materials, an augmented reality HUD, a 14-speaker Meridian audio system, 10-way power and ventilation for the front seats, a powered tailgate, a 360-degree camera, ADAS technology.
