Kia receives over 50,000 bookings for Seltos

Mumbai : Kia made a successful debut in the Indian market as the booking number for the Seltos has touched the 50,000 mark within months of its launch.

Ahead of its official launch in August, the car had received 32,000 bookings and now when the car has been launched in the market, the number has soared upto 50,000 mark.

The Kia Seltos was launched at a starting price of Rs 9.69 lakh which saw it undercut all its rivals and there's also the fact that Kia Motor India offered a ton of options on the car.

From all the offered features, the car always had an edge on its rivals and had become an instant hit among the SUV buyers.

During the launch month, the company sold 6200 units of Kia Seltos and the number increased in September to 7500 units. So far the company has not even started the export of the vehicle but this is something that the company will come up with soon.

The car is being manufactured only in India and Korea, so as soon as the domestic demand is fulfilled the company will launch it in the international markets too.

As per latest reports, the waiting period for Seltos stands between six to eight weeks. The automaker is ramping up production at the Anantapur facility to meet the soaring demand. The company has already confirmed that it will start the second shift at the plant soon.
