Kia Seltos Facelift set to unveil on July 4, check details
Delhi : Up until recently, it was assumed that the South Korean automaker Kia Motors was getting ready to reveal the India-specific Seltos makeover in July. The company will introduce the new Seltos Facelift on July 4, 2023, it has been verified with the new report. By the end of the subsequent month, the much-awaited redesigned SUV is scheduled to arrive in India. The Seltos makeover first debuted internationally in June of the previous year, and it is now making its way to India with the same upgrades.
The facelifted Seltos' revamped front fascia, which includes a new grille and LED headlights, is one of the car's most noticeable improvements. A test mule of the Kia Seltos facelift was recently observed undisguised on a public road near the company's production site in Andhra Pradesh, ahead of its formal introduction in India. The sighting revealed the significant alterations made to the facelifted vehicle.
Notably, the new Seltos have a bigger bumper, altered grille, and updated headlight configuration. The grille has a more muscular appearance, and the revamped headlights now extend into the grille, complemented by new daytime running LEDs. Furthermore, the facelifted version has additional body cladding and body-colored inserts surrounding the fog lamps, presumably signalling the incorporation of ADAS.
With the exception of newly designed 17-inch alloy wheels that resemble those on the X-Line variant of the current model, the Seltos' side profile is mostly untouched. Reverse lights built into the bumper at the back are surrounded by body-colored inserts, setting it apart from the facelift with international specifications. Two exhaust tips give the vehicle a sporty edge, however it is unclear how they work.
The Kia Seltos facelift has undergone a considerable rework within the interior. The rectangular cockpit of the SUV will have two screens for the touchscreen entertainment system and the instrument panel. The cabin also features redesigned controls for the automated temperature control and thinner AC vents that are located below the infotainment screen. Along with standard safety features like six airbags, vehicle stability control, and hill assist, the redesigned Seltos will gain an expansive sunroof and ADAS.
The 1.5-liter petrol engine and the 1.5-liter diesel engine, both of which produce 115 PS, will probably be available as powertrain choices for the facelifted Seltos. The 1.5-liter 160 PS turbocharged petrol engine from the Carens model will, however, replace the 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol engine, which was retired before to the BS6 phase-II emission requirements deadline. The standard gearbox for the SUV's three available engine options is a 6-speed manual gearbox. The petrol engine has a CVT as an optional gearbox, the diesel engine has a 6-speed torque converter, and the petrol engine with the turbocharger has a 7-speed DCT.
Once it is released, the upgraded Kia Seltos will have a lot of rivalry on the Indian market. Strong competitors include the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and MG Astor. In the tiny SUV market, the soon-to-be-released Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross will provide new competition.
