Kia's EV9 concept to debut at auto expo 2023, check details
Delhi : The EV9 electric concept SUV will be on display at the 2018 Auto Expo, according to the first teaser released by Kia. The EV9 electric concept car from Kia was initially displayed at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2021, and it won't go into mass production until the end of 2023.
The Hyundai Seven Concept, a relative of the electric SUV, will serve as its flagship vehicle in Kia's EV lineup.

The Kia EV9 is almost as big as a Range Rover at 4,929mm in length, 2,055mm in width, and 1,790mm in height. The Kia EV6 offered in India is built on the same Electric Global Modular Chassis (E-GMP) platform, which has a wheelbase of 3,100mm, the biggest that can be obtained on that platform.
The EV9 concept will feature several show car characteristics in terms of design. The face has a fresh take on the iconic "tiger nose" grille with a panel that has been blanked out, boasting individual LED light modules, and a Z-shaped headlight cluster. It has a boxy, upright posture, clean lines, flat surfaces, a large glasshouse with a sharp curve post the C-pillar, and flat surfaces throughout. The back has distinctive, vertical LED tail lights and a prominent bumper. The production model would probably tone down the rear-hinged doors, absence of a B-pillar, headlamp cluster, and wide wheel arches.
Kia EV9 Concept: features and interior
The EV9 concept's interior will be relatively understated, with a twin-screen infotainment system, a flat-bottom steering wheel without spokes, and no tactile buttons at all. The proposal will include a three-row configuration with a second row of chairs that can be folded fully flat and a first row of seats that can rotate to create a lounge-like environment, all decked out in wacky ambient lighting.
The production model, though, is probably going to scale back even these. The vehicle will include autonomous driving capabilities, support for over-the-air software updates, and feature-on-demand (FOD), which allows owners to purchase only the functionalities they require.
Kia EV9 concept: engine and battery
A 77.4kWh battery pack, the largest of the two battery packs offered with the smaller EV6, will presumably be used as the EV9 concept's main power source. Expect further information on the range and output numbers once the production-spec model makes its appearance, even if the official numbers have not yet been disclosed.
Rapid charging at rates of up to 350kW is possible because to the 800V electrical design of the E-GMP platform. Approximately 20 minutes are needed to complete a quick charge of the battery from 10% to 80%. A dual-motor, four-wheel-drive range-topper and an entry-level model with a single motor driving the rear axle are both planned to be available when the EV9 is first introduced.
What else can you anticipate from Kia at the 2023 Auto Expo?
Kia will exhibit the EV6 in addition to the EV9 at the 2023 Auto Expo. The second-generation Kia Carnival and a facelift for the Seltos SUV are also anticipated to make their Indian debuts during the show. The Sorento SUV from Kia's international lineup is expected to be shown as well.
