Delhi : Mahindra, one of the leading SUV manufacturers in India, has been developing new models to increase their inventory. Mahindra, like many of its competitors, has been developing electric vehicles, and the XUV400 is already on the market. In addition, Mahindra is developing a new line of Born Electric SUVs, some of which have previously been revealed as concepts. Last year, the XUV.e8, an electric version of the XUV700, was also shown. An photograph of the design patent for the production version of the XUV.e8 SUV has suddenly leaked online.

The manufacturing version of the EV is plainly shown in the leaked photographs. The production model closely follows the idea that the manufacturer unveiled last year, with the paint job being the only glaring variation, which makes the patent photographs even more intriguing. The front fascia of the Mahindra XUV.e8 is distinctive and futuristic-looking, and it includes an LED bar that spans the width of the vehicle.

Vertically, this LED DRL descends to the bumper. The front grille of the e8 will be entirely closed, just as other EVs already on the market. The Mahindra logo is finished in bronze in the leaked image, and there are bronze accents all around the headlamp region. The headlamps are different from those on the XUV700 and are probably projector LED ones. The lights are piled vertically, one on top of the other.

The XUV.e8's bumper is simple, with only a skid plate with bronze accents at the bottom. The front fascia of this electric SUV is a key standout. Moving on to the side profile, the SUV's design is reminiscent to the XUV700. The flush fitting door handles, door panels, window design, and roof design are all reminiscent of the XUV700.

Although the SUV's design is similar to the XUV700, it's important to note that the XUV.e8 and any future Mahindra EVs are built on a new platform. Mahindra's INGLO skateboard platform was designed exclusively for electric vehicles.

XUV.e8 will have dimensions of 4,740mm in length, 1,900mm in width, and 1,760mm in height. With a 2,762mm wheelbase, the forthcoming EV will be 45mm longer, 10mm wider, and 5mm taller than the XUV700. Additionally, Mahindra has previously stated that an AWD system will be available and that the battery pack's capacity will be 80 kWh.

The next electric SUV is anticipated to produce between 230 and 350 horsepower. Mahindra is also developing the XUV.e9 and BE.05. These other electric SUVs are in addition to the XUV.e8. For the other EVs presently undergoing testing, Mahindra might not provide a new design. XUV.e8 will be the first product to hit the market, and it is projected to be ready by the end of 2024. Next year, Mahindra will also release the 5-door Thar.
