Delhi : Maruti and Honda have notified that they will also increase the pricing of their cars starting on April 1, 2023, even though several automakers have previously declared a price increase throughout their entire range. The price increases are likely to be applied to all Maruti vehicles and will vary by model. Just the Amaze's prices are expected to increase for Honda vehicles.

Why is there yet another price increase?

Both manufacturers cited the same factors as justification for the most recent price increase, including general inflation, an increase in input and logistical expenses, as well as new legal requirements for car safety and emissions.

The current pricing distribution of Maruti and Honda cars is as follows:

The Jazz and WR-V will be phased out soon, and the Honda City was just facelifted and will be unaffected by the latest price increase. The Amaze's pricing is expected to hike by up to Rs 12,000.

Following the January increase, this will be the second price increase for both Maruti and Honda in 2023. As the BS6 phase II norms' implementation date approaches, automakers are using this measure to optimise their cost-to-revenue ratio.

The Grand Vitara's prices were not raised in January since it was a newer model than other Maruti vehicles, but we expect the small SUV to face a price increase this time.
