New Delhi : Maruti Suzuki is all set to add a new version to its hot-selling car of 2016 - Baleno. According to a report in IB Times, the company will bring its SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) mild-hybrid technology model by next year.

According to the report, the SHVS system will be available on the diesel variant of the Baleno.

Currently, Maruti Suzuki diesel claims ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 27.39 km/l, with inclusion of SHVS it is likely that the car will see a total increase of 10% in the fuel economy.

Aside from the Baleno SHVS, Maruti is also working on the Baleno RS with the 1.0-liter turbocharged Boosterjet petrol engine. The Baleno RS is expected to launch this financial year, as will the Maruti Ignis.
