New Delhi : Amid growing demands of electric vehicles in the market, Maruti Suzuki is also working hard in developing and creating new electric cars. An electric WagonR has been spied on the roads recently. Since the vehicle was not camouflaged, the exact design of the car got revealed.

The car retains the tall boy design like the petrol version. The front of the car has been redesigned as the turn indicators are placed above and the main headlamp unit sits in the bumper.

There is no visible grill in the front as there is no internal combustion engine that needs air.

The side and back profile resembles very well with the current Wagon R model available in the market. There is also a chrome strip above the number plate which has been covered because the name of the vehicle is expected to be written there just like we saw on WagonR Stingray. The rear bumper is also redesigned, it gets vertical reflector strips and a horizontal black stripe.

In the pictures available on the internet, the interior of the car was not revealed, but we believe it shoulf be similar to the ones in petrol version.

Maruti focusing on alternative fuels

The largest automobile manufacturer is already focusing more on CNG powered vehicles and mild-hybrid technology. They have shelved the plan of bringing back the 1.5-litre diesel engine. Maruti Suzuki already offers factory-fitted CNG vehicles and some of their vehicles come with SHVS mild-hybrid technology. The Swift, Vitara Brezza and Dzire will soon be getting CNG powertrain and their upcoming vehicles will get mild-hybrid technology
