Maruti Swift: The car we've always deserved but never got before

New Delhi : In its brand new avatar, the Maruti Suzuki Swift may look like an evolution of its previous model, but the changes are massive. Maruti Suzuki has made a sporty car, fun to drive and yet, manages to be practical enough on the road to be convenient for a family. It also has an improved tech package. 

The third generation of an evergreen icon - the very popular new Maruti Suzuki Swift is India's most loved hatchback. The new 2018 Swift adds some oomph and also a modern edge. The new Maruti Suzuki Swift certainly looks contemporary straight away. The face of the 2018 Maruti Suzuki Swift is a lot like the Dzire's in terms of structure, but in terms of attributes, this one is a lot sportier. 

With its floating roof design, robust shoulder lines, subtle side body sculpting and precisely cut alloy wheels, the new Swift certainly know how to make heads turn. With 13 stunning variants, the new Maruti Swift starts with a range of Rs. 5,14,000 to Rs.8,89,000 (Diesel). 

Exterior

The Swift and the Dzire have been near-identical twins in the past in terms of their frontal appearance, with some minor differences in the grille design. The new Swift too follows suit. The headlamps, for example, are the same. The bonnet and the front fenders to have the same plan. 

While both the Swift and the Dzire has a hexagonal front grille, the one on the Swift is bigger and doesn’t get any chrome outline. As a result, Swift looks less bulky and more aggressive in appearance. The front bumper look of the Swift is also different when compared to the Dzire. While both the cars flaunt round fog lamps, the Swift gets a thinner air dam that runs across the bumper merging with the fog lamp housings on both sides which adds a hint of ruggedness. 

The Swift never looked this good from the rear as it does now. The Swift also becomes the first car under Maruti Suzuki Arena to not have variant badging anywhere. There’s only the DDiS symbol on the front fender of the diesel version. The design and new superior technology enhance Swift’s overall performance. 

Interior

The Swift has an all-black cabin with deep grey inserts on the dashboard and the steering wheel. The layout is substantially similar to that of the Dzire, but little differences like the dial-type AC console and round AC vent design, combined with the all-black interior make it distinctive and sportier. 

The front seats are very supportive and have a great cushion around the back, shoulders and the lumbar. The driver’s seat is height-adjustable, but the steering is only adjustable for rake. 

The view from the front seat is endearing with the upright A-pillar as it does not hinders side vision at all and also eases the turning or parking it in front-first for most drivers. 

The new Swift also has integrated Infotainment System which provides seamless connectivity with all smartphones. It includes:
