Delhi : During the 2023 Monterey Car Week, Maserati made the MCXtrema public. The supercar was formerly called as Project24. Although the MCXtrema is based on the MC12, it is no longer road legal and is now exclusively used on tracks. The MCXtrema, which will only be produced in 62 units, is already completely sold out.

The same 3.0 liter dual turbocharged V6 petrol engine powers this beast. It produces a peak torque of 730 Nm at just 3,000 rpm and a maximum power output of 720 horsepower at 7,500 rpm. Maserati was able to wring an additional 108 horsepower from the MC12. Maserati modified its engines with new turbochargers, a race exhaust, and other parts to increase their output. A six-speed sequential racing gearbox with a racing clutch and paddle shifters located on the steering wheel is the gearbox in use. All of the power is sent to the back wheels only.

The dry weight of the MCXtrema is 1,300 kg. Maserati uses an 18-inch forged alloy wheel with center lock fastening and a carbon fiber monocoque chassis to help with weight reduction. The underfloor is completely enclosed with carbon fiber, while the body is constructed of lightweight full-composite. Polycarbonate is used to make the windscreen and side windows.

It has a safety roll cage and a 120-liter gasoline tank, both of which are FIA-homologated because it is a "race car." In addition, there is an air jack system. The tires are either wet or racing slicks.

Ventilated carbon fiber brakes with adjustable racing ABS are used for braking. Both the front and the rear of the vehicle have double wishbone suspensions for the purpose of suspension. Additionally, adjustable dampers and anti-roll bars are available. The fixed bucket racing seat has a four-point mounting system. The only parts that may be altered are the pedal box and the steering column. Speaking about the steering column, the steering wheel also has an integrated display and is made of carbon fiber. The MCXtrema surprisingly has air conditioning.
