New Delhi : MG Hector India has announced that they are temporarily closing down bookings for the Hector SUV. According to the company, over 21,000 vehicles have already been booked and with low production speed they have called for no more new bookings.

The company plans to increase the production of vehicle at its Halol manufacturing facility to 3,000 units per month by October this year. The top two variants - Smart and Sharp – have registered highest number of bookings, with over 50 per-cent reservations for the petrol variants.

The new dates of re-opening the booking of vehicle will be announced soon.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajeev Chaba, President and MD, MG Motor India, said “Our first product, the MG Hector, has received an overwhelming response and we are unable to cater to such high initial demand. We are, therefore, closing bookings temporarily as this will help ensure timely and orderly deliveries for our customers who have shown tremendous confidence in MG. We are also working with our component suppliers to ramp up production in a gradual manner without any compromise on quality."
