Delhi : The largest electric vehicle manufacturer in the world, Tesla, intends to enter the Indian market. To start selling its electric vehicles in India, the company has made a request to the government to lower the import taxes.

Piyush Goel arrived at the Tesla factory.

Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal said that Tesla will increase the amount of car components it imports from India during a visit to the US electric vehicle manufacturer's Fremont, California, production facility. Let us inform you that the minister is spending four days visiting America.

Tesla is planning to increase imports.

In a social media post, Piyush Goyal expressed his pride at the growing role that Indian auto parts play in the supply chain for Tesla electric vehicles. In the next several days, the company will import twice as many components. Tesla's demand to lower import duties on electric vehicles by 15 percent is apparently being considered by the Indian government, which will hasten the EV manufacturer's entry into the country. According to a Financial Times story, Elon Musk's company is considering establishing a facility in India, and this move would incentivize the carmaker to expedite the process.

Future Plans for Tesla

Tesla intends to use its German facility to produce the least expensive electric vehicle ever. At first, it was believed that this most cheap Tesla EV was made in India. Tesla has asked the Indian government for a reduction in the first import fee, which would give the business a steep 70% levy on all cars that are fully built units (CBUs) and cost less than $40,000 (about Rs 33.31 lakh). will be permitted to cover customs charges. One government official was reported in the paper as adding that Tesla has always felt that constructing a facility in India requires some tariff reductions, at least temporarily.
