Delhi : The future 5 E-Tech electric car from Renault has been teased with pictures. The similar idea prototype was first made public in 2021. The new teaser photos provide important information about the design and anticipated release date of the French automaker's forthcoming electric vehicle.

The next 5 E-Tech EV is scheduled to make its world debut at the Geneva International Motor Show on February 26, 2024, according to a press statement released by Renault. The forthcoming 5 E-Tech's primary specifications have also been made public by the French automaker.

Renault 5 E-Tech: Specs & features

The French carmaker has revealed that the 5 E-Tech will be equipped with a 52 kWh battery that could offer a range up to 248 miles (397 km) on a full charge according to WLTP testing protocol. Further, the 5 E-Tech is the first car to be based on the new AmpR Small platform, formerly known as CMF-B EV platform.

Renault promises that the 5 E-Tech will be equipped with cutting-edge technologies such as Reno, Renault's official avatar and next-generation humanised co-driver. Renault 5 E-Tech electric will be the brand's first production car to integrate V2G (vehicle-to-grid) technology, with a bidirectional onboard charger.

V2G technology, which is supported by Mobilize, enables the 5 E-Tech to supply energy to the grid. By selling electricity back to the grid, drivers will be able to save money on charging and reduce their overall electricity bill.

Renault 5 E-Tech: Design

The cropped preview photographs emphasize several aspects of the electric hatchback's production-spec variant. The first image depicts the car's distinctive LED headlights, which are shaped like the pupil of the human eye.  This homage to the 1972 commercial showcasing "The Adventures of Supercar" gives the modern-day R5 a more human-like expression.

The second visual highlight is a charge indication light on the hood, which replaces the R5's typical air intake. When completely charged, this indicator illuminates to create the number 5. The wheel arches, which give the car a wider stance despite its small stature, are the next feature.
