Delhi : Kushaq SUV and the Slavia sedan, two domestically built Skoda vehicles, are receiving favourable reviews. The favourable reception for the new generation of Skoda automobiles was significantly influenced by a variety of engine-gearbox combinations and a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP. Skoda is getting ready to introduce a number of new vehicles in the nation, including the facelifted Octavia, new compact SUV, and the new Superb sedan, in an effort to boost sales even further.

According to reports, Skoda is working on a brand-new compact SUV that will go on sale in the second half of 2024. The next Skoda small SUV, internally known as SK216, would primarily compete against vehicles like the Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and others. According to the article, research is still being done on a locally produced electric car.

The modified MQB AO IN platform that supports the Kushaq and the Slavia is anticipated to serve as the foundation for the forthcoming Skoda SK216 compact SUV. The platform is made to allow for vehicles longer than 4 metres in length in its current configuration. For a smaller SUV to fit, Skoda engineers will need to make some adjustments.

Prior to being released in our market, the new locally built automobiles will need to wait a further one to two years. Before the year is up, the business plans to introduce the new Enyaq electric car and the most recent Superb sedan as CBUs in our market. Additionally, the brand-new Skoda Octavia RS is being considered for the Indian market.

The 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that will power the next Skoda compact SUV is anticipated to have 114 horsepower and 178 Nm of torque. There will be choices for a manual and a torque converter automatic transmission. Before deciding on a domestically made EV vehicle for the Indian market, Skoda is also taking into consideration the Enyaq Coupe and Elroq EV.
