New Delhi : Suzuki has launched a brand new hatchback WagonR smile in its home market Japan. The new Suzuki WagonR Smile is priced between 1.29 million yen & 1.71 million yen (approx. Rs 8.3 lakh to Rs 11.44 lakh).

The car will be available for purchase from September 10, 2021 onwards. The company is aiming to sell around 5,000 units every month.

The new WagonR Smile features a brand new design language as compared to the old model. The car features sliding doors at the rear for easy ingress and egress. The Smile model is also 45 mm taller than the standard WagonR.

To sumup the look, we can call it a mini-van version of the car. It features circular headlamps units at the front, a chrome grille, minimalistic design on the side, vertically-stacked tail lights and a flat roofline and plenty of dual-tone colour options.

The car also comes with a large touchscreen infotainment unit at the centre, steering-mounted controls, dual-tone dashboard, under-seat storage, analogue instrument cluster with a small MID and plenty of seat upholstery options to choose from.

The Suzuki WagonR Smile will be offered in three variants, all of them powered by the same 657cc three-cylinder engine. The engine is capable of producing 47 BHP @ 6500 rpm and 58 Nm @ 5000 rpm, paired with a standard CVT transmission.
