Tata Motors to hike vehicle prices by up to Rs 40,000 from Jan 1

New Delhi : Tata Motors has announced that they will be increasing the price of vehicles by up to Rs 40,000, effective from January 1, 2019. The entire range of Tata cars include Tiago, Tigor, Bolt, Zest, Nano, Hexa, Safari, etc.

Mr. Mayank Pareek, President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors, "The changing market conditions, rising input costs and various external economic factors have compelled us to consider this price increase. We are optimistic on maintaining our growth trajectory in the coming year on the back of our robust portfolio consisting of segment-leading products like TIAGO, HEXA, TIGOR and the NEXON.

Tata is also likely to introduce much awaited SUV Harrier in the early 2019. We are confident that the HARRIER will receive all the love from our existing and prospective customers and will further help us in strengthening our brand salience." 

Tata Harrier is likely to be priced between Rs 16 and Rs 20 lakh per unit.

In other news, Tata Nexon has managed to get five star rating in terms of safety globally. All Nexon cars produced after December 7, 2018 come with five star safety tag.

The new Tata Nexon is one of the safest cars in the country while Global NCAP now seeks more Indian cars to gain a 5 Star rating with added improvements in pedestrian protection and crash avoidance.
