Tata ramps up Tiago EV production to shorten waiting periods
Delhi : Tata Motors introduced the Tiago EV a few months ago, at a starting price of Rs. 8.49 lakh lakh (ex-showroom). And Tata Motors received more than 20,000 bookings in just one month. The automaker is now attempting to increase manufacturing of the EV to shorten the waiting period as deliveries of this Tata EV are now in progress.
It's interesting to note that Tata has only started with the delivery of the long-range Tiago EV, which features a floor-mounted 24kWh battery pack. The 19.2kWh middle range trim will shortly be delivered to customers. Customers have a choice between the XE, XT, XZ Plus, and XZ Plus Tech Lux models in five different colour schemes. A 15A plug-point, a 3.3kW AC wall box charger, and a 7.2kW AC fast charger are available as charging options.
Through its electric vehicle (EV) subsidiary, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, Tata Motors finished acquiring Ford India's Sanand manufacturing facility last month. Additionally, every piece of property, including buildings, machinery, and equipment, has been purchased and will shortly be restored. Lower waiting times for Tata's electric vehicles are anticipated as the brand's manufacturing capacity increases.
