Tata Safari prices hiked by up to Rs 36000

New Delhi : The new generation Tata Safari has been given its first price hike this month. The SUV is now priced at Rs 14.99 lakh to Rs. 21.81 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

Tata Motors has announced a price hike of up to Rs 36000 on its newly launched Safari SUV. We bring you the updated price list of the car in comparison with the older one.

The base ‘XE’ model of Tata Safari has become dearer by around Rs. 30,000. As for all other variants, the prices have gone up by around Rs. 36,000. No other changes have been announced in the car other than the price tag.

Tata Safari gets a 2.0-litre, turbocharged, inline-4 diesel engine under the hood. This FCA-sourced powerplant can generate a peak power of 170 PS and a maximum torque of 350 Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox, both of which send power exclusively to the front wheels.

In the Indian market, Tata Safari competes directly with SUVs like MG Hector, Mahindra XUV 500 and upcoming Hyundai's Alcazar.
