Tata launches 'styleback' Tigor, aims to attract budget sedan lovers
New Delhi : Tata on Wednesday upgraded its sub-four meter sedan range by adding brand new Tigor with an aim to attract budget sedan lovers. The car has been smartly parked at an attractive price of 4.7 lakh for the base petrol variant, making it the cheapest sedan car available in market so far.
The car comes in direct competition with Maruti Suzuki's sub-four meter sedan Swift Dzire, that is available at Rs 5.27 lakh for its base model.
Other than Tigor, Tata offers Zest and Indigo CS in the sub-four meter range. The Tigor has been powered with 1.2 litre Petrol engine and 1.05-litre Diesel engine.
Tigor takes its que for the hatchback Tiago, which definitely made Tata once again a preferred brand in the hatchback segment.
The company has sold nearly 60,000 units of the hatch back Tiago.
“With Tiago, Tigor and Hexa, we now cover 51% of the addressable market. But I have 49% of the market unaddressed. But I am very sure we have made the right beginning with these models and are very much on track,” Mayank Pareek, president-passenger vehicles, Tata Motors, said after the launch.
Tata Motors prefers to call its new car as 'styleback'.
