Tata plans to launch AMT version of Tiago soon: Report

New Delhi : Tata's premium hatchback Tiago is likely to be relaunched with automatic varients in the markets soon, claimed a report by team-bhp.

The report claims that the AMT will be available on the XT and XZ variants of Tiago. As per initial leaks and rumours, automatic engine will be launched only for the petrol runs. While, diesel may get the update at a later stage.

AMT unit for the 5-speed gearbox is expected to be sourced from Magneti-Marelli. It will be mated to the Tiago's 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine.

Tiago's competitor Celerio also sports the same AMT engine and it is offered in all varients of the car. Things will be cleared only after Tiago AMT is officially launched.
