Delhi : Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, a mid-size SUV, has established itself as a serious competitor in the small SUV market. The Toyota Hyryder has swiftly become a favourite among SUV enthusiasts in the nation because to its outstanding performance, chic style, and superior fuel efficiency. The Toyota Hyryder has cemented its position in the Indian SUV market by outperforming the Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun in June 2023 sales, according to numbers recently released.

Toyota sold 4,194 automobiles in January, 3,307 in February, and 3,474 in March. Additionally, the sales figures for April were 2,616 units, and in May they increased somewhat to 3,090 units. Despite a little decline in sales in June (2,821 units sold), the Hyryder's overall sales performance is still impressive. 19,502 units have been sold overall since January under the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder brand.

When compared to the prior year's data, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder had significant rise in 2023. Toyota sold 3,131 units in August 2022, and 3,384 units in October. The sales data increased even further in December to 4,201 units, showing a clear upward trend and emphasising the Hyryder's rising appeal among consumers.

It is clear why the Toyota Hyryder has overtaken its nearest rivals, the Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun, when comparing the Hyryder's sales numbers to theirs. The Toyota Hyryder sold 4,194 units in January 2023, outpacing the Skoda Kushaq's 2,013 sales that month. The Skoda Kushaq regularly lagged behind the Hyryder throughout the months of February, March, and April as the pattern continued. Even though the Skoda Kushaq was able to sell 2,133 units in June, its sales numbers fell short of those of the Toyota Hyryder.

In a similar vein, the Volkswagen Taigun struggled to match the Toyota Hyryder's sales growth. The Taigun sold 1,455 copies in January, which was less than half of what the Hyryder did. The Taigun regularly underperformed in terms of sales during the year as a result of this tendency. Volkswagen sold 1,449 vehicles in June, a little increase from May, but the Toyota Hyryder still has a sizable lead.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder has a strong-hybrid powertrain that combines a 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder gasoline engine with naturally aspirated combustion that produces 92 horsepower and 122 lb-ft of torque with an electric motor that generates 78 hp and 141 lb-ft of torque. The combined output of this engine and the eCVT automatic gearbox is 114 bhp.

The mild hybrid drivetrain, which is the alternative drivetrain choice offered by the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, consists of a 1.5-liter K15C naturally aspirated petrol engine (102 Bhp-135 Nm) mated to an electric motor that aids in acceleration. The K15C petrol engine comes with an all-wheel-drive system and is mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. The two engines are identical to those found in the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.

The Toyota Hyryder comes equipped with features including a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, a wireless charger, a full digital instrument cluster, heated seats, a head-up display, connected car technology, and voice assistance that works with both Google and Siri. Additionally, it has disc brakes on all four wheels, six airbags, 17-inch alloy wheels, ESP, traction control, and hill-hold assistance. It also has a system for monitoring tyre pressure, speed alerts, seat belt reminders and 3-point seatbelts for all passengers, even those in the back. The robust hybrid system's battery pack receives an 8-year/160,000-kilometer warranty in addition to the usual 3-year/100,000-kilometer warranty.
