Delhi : Today, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) announced the Rumion's entry into the Indian market. It expands the brand's MPV lineup, which already includes the Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross, and the just-released new Vellfire generation. The Toyota Rumion, which has a starting price of Rs. 10.29 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base grade, is now the least costly MPV from the Japanese automaker.

Six trim levels of the Toyota Rumion are offered: S MT, S AT, G MT, V MT, V AT, and S MT (CNG). The G MT and V MT are priced at Rs. 11.45 lakh and Rs. 12.18 lakh, respectively, while the S AT is priced at Rs. 11.89 lakh. Priced at Rs. 13.68 lakh for the top-of-the-line Toyota Rumion V AT and Rs. 11.24 lakh for the only CNG model, S MT (all prices, ex-showroom).

The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, the top-selling MPV in the nation, was rebadged to create the seven-seater. In contrast, the Ertiga retails for between Rs. 8.64 lakh and Rs. 13.08 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in nine trim levels. It costs between Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 60,000 more. The Toyota Rumion built for India and the South African market both share many similarities.

It has minimal outward modifications to set itself apart from its donor and is built on the same compact Heartect platform. The newly designed 15-inch alloy wheels, prominent pillar-mounted tail lamps, an upright tailgate, and other features can be found on the front fascia. The front grille features a chrome outline and black hexagonal inlays.

There are five color options available for the Toyota Rumion: Spunky Blue, Rustic Brown, Iconic Grey, Cafe White, and Enticing Silver. The well-known 1.5L four-cylinder K15C mild-hybrid petrol engine is used for performance. It is combined with either a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission or a five-speed manual transmission, both of which have a maximum power output of 103 horsepower and 136.8 Nm of peak torque.

Its claimed fuel efficiency for the MT, AT, and CNG variants is 20.51 km/l, 20.11 km/l, and 26.11 km/kg, respectively. A touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a semi-digital instrument console, controls mounted on the steering wheel, dual airbags as standard, hill hold assist, dual tone seat fabric, electronic stability control, reverse parking sensors and camera, etc. are included in the equipment list. For an initial token of Rs. 11,000, the Toyota Rumion can be reserved at authorized dealerships located all over India. In CNG mode, the CNG version produces 121.5 Nm and 87.8 horsepower.
