Volkswagen Tiguan SUV officially launch in India: Grab your hybrid engine SUV
Delhi : Volkswagen, the world's largest automaker, has unveiled a brand-new version of Tiguan, its best-selling SUV, for international markets. The third-generation Volkswagen Tiguan has undergone considerable modifications that have brought new technical breakthroughs and brought its appearance in line with Volkswagen's current SUV lineup. Volkswagen's best-selling vehicle in their current lineup is the Tiguan.
Volkswagen Tiguan: Design
The new Tiguan has the same 'IQ Light HD' Matrix headlamps as the Touareg, which have 38,400 multi-pixel LEDs for illumination and a thin LED light strip connecting them. It is constructed on the redesigned MQB 'evo' platform. The Tiguan has full-width LED taillights, dual-tone alloy wheels, and improved haunches. It now has better aerodynamics thanks to a lower drag coefficient.

The revised inside of the 2018 Tiguan includes a 15.1-inch touchscreen with the newest MIB4 infotainment and a 10.25-inch digital instrument display. The steering wheel's touch controls are replaced by physical buttons for better use, and the illuminated volume slider and climate control buttons are located at the bottom of the main screen. A rotary controller with an OLED screen is included into the compact center console and may be used to change the powertrain, chassis, and ambient lighting modes. Now a column stalk, the gear lever shares a design with the future Skoda Kodiaq.Additionally, the new Tiguan adds ergoActive Plus seats with a 10-chamber pressure massage feature and four-way lumbar adjustment. When the outside temperature reaches a specific point, they can automatically turn on the seat ventilation.
Volkswagen Tiguan: Engine
The new Tiguan has four different engine options: a 1.5-liter gasoline hybrid, 2.0-liter gasoline, 2.0-liter diesel, and 1.5-liter gasoline. The plug-in hybrid version has a larger 19.7 kWh battery with a 100 km electric range, though exact power figures have not yet been released. Faster AC and DC charging are supported. All Tiguan models come standard with automatic gearboxes, either a 6-speed DSG for plug-in hybrids or a 7-speed DSG with paddle shifters.
Prices and India Launch for the Volkswagen Tiguan
Beginning in early 2024, the new Tiguan will be offered on overseas markets. The latest model costs about Rs 35.20 lakh in India. The new Tiguan is expected to debut in the second half of 2024, and its price could rise to around Rs 40 lakh, especially if a plug-in hybrid version is offered.
