New Delhi : Volkswagen will be launching its Tiguan facelift version of its five-seater SUV on December 7, 2021. The company has earlier mentioned that this is among the four cars company will be launching in India this year.

The other three cars which will be launched by Volkwagen this year are all-new Taigun and 2021 versions of the T-Roc and the Tiguan AllSpace 7-seater SUV.

The updated Tiguan had made its global debut back in 2020, and now the SUV will be finally launched in India. The SUV will be in direct competition with Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson, and Citroen C5 AirCross.

According to a report, Volkswagen will be locally assembling the SUV in India.

Under VW Group's new strategy for India, the Volkswagen Tiguan too will be a petrol-only SUV, and it will be powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged engine, tuned to make 187 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque. The engine will come mated to a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission as standard and will be coupled with the 4Motion all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.
